The talks of producing a home and renovations show without gimmicks and glamour has been circulating around the Master Builders Association NSW Events & Awards department for some time.

Last year, the MBA took a step into the broadcasting world when the 2021 Excellence in Housing & Pool Awards were televised for the very first time. Aired on 7two, the 3-hour T.V broadcast showcased the black tie awards ceremony, announcing finalists, winners and the MBA’s major awards. Filmed at The Star Casino, this event was the first face-to-face ceremony since the global COVID-19 pandemic sent the world into lockdown in 2020. The broadcast proved extremely popular, with over 60,000 tuning in across 7two and 7now.

With the success of the 2021 Excellence in Housing & Pool Awards fresh on everyone’s minds, talks of how the MBA could expand their broadcasting portfolio commenced. This is when the idea of Master Build was born; the MBA receives hundreds of exceptional, unique and quality builds through the Excellence in State Awards programme every year and Master Build presents the perfect opportunity to showcase nationally the quality workmanship that is produced by these builders on a daily basis.

Master Build aims to show the real world of building and renovating. This series will demonstrate the trials and tribulations that builders face and the innovative ways they overcome these problems to meet their clients expectations.  Master Build will show the different relationships builders hold with their clients, sub contractors and suppliers, whilst giving insight from MBA award judges as to exactly what it takes to produce an award winning build. In a first for our industry, Master Build will represent the construction industry from the builder’s perspective and showcase the vast pool of unique talent that circulates around NSW.

Master Build airs on 7two on 23 October 2022 at 11:00 AM. You can also stream Master Build from this date on 7+.
