Members are reminded that during periods of declared Total Fire Bans (TFB’s), hot works associated with construction / demolition may not be carried out.

Only ‘Essential’ and ‘Urgent’ hot works associated with construction / demolition may be carried out during periods of declared TFB’s, provided an exemption has first been obtained from the projects nearest fire service.

Depending on the location of the project, this may be the nearest Metropolitan Fire Brigade Station or the Rural Fire Service (RFS).

Alternatively, Members are also advised if the hot works are not considered to be either ‘Essential’ or ‘Urgent’, you must apply for a specific exemption through the RFS prior to performing any such hot works during a TFB.
