Pressure is mounting on NSW builders from price hikes on fuel and building materials, which

will make the NSW housing target even harder to achieve if there is no short-term easing,

according to the latest construction data released today.

“Suppliers have been like lightning in passing on fuel cost increases for delivery of materials

and services to and from sites including reports of charging an extra $8 per cubic metre of

concrete, $4 extra per cubic metre of rubbish removed from site, 33% increase for hardware

deliveries to sites and 33% increase to the price of PVC piping,

” Mathew Pollock, Executive

Director of Master Builders NSW said.
