The National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 is now expected to be adopted by states and territories from 1 September 2022.This means that any of the changes scheduled into the new NCC (Vol 1 & 2) will not come into effect until this date.

This delay will also see adjustments to key dates in the amendment cycle process for NCC 2022. This will allow stakeholders time to take part.

These adjusted dates include:

  • May - July 2021: NCC 2022 Public Comment Draft released for public consultation
  • May 2022: NCC 2022 Preview published at ncc.abcb.gov.au

The current NCC (2019 suite) will remain current and in use until NCC 2022 is released.

The Australian Building Codes Board will be delivering its NCC Seminar in 2021. The Seminars are expected to be held in each capital city during May next year. Booking and registration information will be available in early 2021.
