Part of this purpose designed building was for the production of television programs and incorporated four recording studios totalling 3000m2 with a high dependence of acoustic treatments, which included floating concrete floors acoustically isolated from the main building structure. With a stringent criteria set by the client in the brief for floor flatness, utmost importance was placed by the builder on rigorous quality control measures in achieving “superflat” floors within the required tolerance. The excellent result achieved surpassed the expectations of the television company, who informed the judges “they had the flattest concrete floors in the country”.
