COMMENTS FROM EMPLOYER – KAREN GAVA
Tony has a presence on the job site; he has authority and genuine ability over and above any previous apprentices we have employed over the years.
Tony’s communication and interpersonal skills came to the fore during the recent completed contract, Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Highway Upgrade with Lend Lease.
Tony was our representative on the safety committee that consisted of supervisors, engineers, principal contractors, tunnel builders and all trades involved in the project.
Tony brought to the meetings attention any details/logistics that our trades needed considered.  After pre-start Tony would proceed to the job site and conduct a toolbox talk with our employees, advising them of the tunnels progress and any information relevant to that day.
Tony’s role in this project was to keep our block layers with materials in a highly confined space.  He co-ordinated the supplies of blocks, sand, cement, steel, concrete and concrete pumps without having any large areas to stockpile supplies.

GOALS & AMBITIONS
Tony plans to complete his apprenticeship and has indicated his interest in continuing his own bricklaying/subcontracting business.
