Project
Rosebery Engine Yards

Roseberry Engine Yards is a new sophisticated hybrid retail showroom. The 100 year old site covers 1.9ha, with the original building, constructed between 1922 & 1925 then housing Roseberry Engine Works, Commonwealth Weaving Works and Westinghouse. This adaption of the old buildings by Taylor Constructions has created a modern upmarket shopping centre of 20,000m2 whilst maintaining much of the character of the 100 year old buildings. Having achieved a 5 star Green Star as built rating, Rosebury Engine Yards, on a very tight site bounded by 4 major roads plus all-day parking, is an exemplary example of the benefits of adaptive reuse, and the value repurposed buildings play in the sustainable development of Australian Communities.
