Shire Council purchased this 1930s built Art Deco Cinema in the 1970s , and over the last couple of years has together with Salisbury Construction recreated this major building located within the heart of the Leeton CBD, to become a modern Performing Arts Venue whilst maintaining much of the buildings Art Deco heart. Apart from the installation of 2 new lifts, technical performing arts (sound & light) fit out and air conditioning, old seating was removed allowing for the installation of a new flat hardwood floor and tiered stackable seating installed, this easily cupboard stored when the flat floor is needed for dinners cabarets etc. Salisbury Construction and Leeton Shire Council have worked very closely and proactively together to upgrade this iconic building for modern day use whilst preserving the building’s 100 years of architecture.
