The Engineered Swing Stage Ladder was developed collaboratively by RM Watson, the swing stage installer, engineering consultants and fabricators to provide safe balcony access from swing stages.
The final solution included certified anchor points, independent vertical static lines, rescue procedures, and updated SWMS and risk assessments. Supervisors and workers completed workshops and Verification of Competency (VOC), with trial installations, stakeholder demonstrations and formal inspections undertaken before deployment.
The engineered system provided a safe, practical and cost-effective access solution.
