The Olympia is a five-storey, 109-room hotel incorporating restaurants, cafés, a rooftop bar and wellness centre, alongside three entertainment venues and ground-floor retail.
The project carefully restored the building’s original façade, preserving its significant cinematic heritage while introducing a new structure constructed around the retained heritage steel system. This sensitive approach successfully balanced the preservation of the building’s character with the delivery of a contemporary, high-quality development.
The RCC project demonstrates excellence in construction, innovation and leadership within a highly constrained, heritage-listed urban environment. Delivered through complex staging, evolving regulatory requirements and an active public interface, the project required exceptional coordination and collaboration across all project stakeholders.
The result is a benchmark for adaptive reuse, demonstrating best practice in heritage conservation, safety leadership, construction innovation and collaborative project delivery.
