Situated in a beautiful bushland setting at Galston Gorge, this pool is a natural/freeform creation by Fluid Design and looks as though it would be at home in a five-star tropical resort. It was designed to blend in with the surrounding environment, thanks to its natural shape and water cascading and shimmering over the negative infinity wet edge and flowing through two natural basalt feature rocks. At two-and-a-half tonnes each, these feature rocks sit in the pool and hang over the negative wall. The use of natural products such as spotted gum timber and natural dark granite soften the pool and allow it to blend in with the bush outlook, as does the natural-look cabana. The turquoise colour of the interior/water also gives that natural and inviting feel. In-floor cleaning helps make the pool maintenance free and pleasurable. This was a detailed design brought to life from the designer’s picture, which led to a challenging but enjoyable project, of which Platinum Poolscapes should be very proud.
