The project involved the design and construction of a totally new addition to the existing Emaus Nursing Home, involving 12 unique Residential aged care Houses for 94 cognitively impaired residents. The Houses were built within 3 district precincts. “Township”, “Rural” and “Coastal,” so that residents could easily relate to their living areas. Initial construction works involved the importing of 50,000m3 of fill to keep above future flood levels, with Paynters overcoming trades shortages during covid and prolonged wet weather, to create a very attractive well finished, innovative, nursing home extension.
