This remarkable project involved the gutting of the multi storey Shell House building– 65.5m high, including demolition of all floors, whilst retaining the entire historic
Façade, & then rebuilding within the façade, floors to equate to the original 65.5m height.   Also, during this process, the 400 tonne heritage clock tower was supported, and all this construction occurring above Sydney’s rail tunnels.  The resultant high quality office building included a fully integrated fit out for the National Australia Bank. Shell House ultimately formed part of a complex of 3 buildings known as Brookfield Place, with the other 2 completed buildings Beneficial House refurbishment and a
modern office tower building known as 10 Carrington St.  Shell House was connected to10 Carrington St by a spectacular full height void which also provided for office staff, vertical movement between floors via  suspended stairs, & bridges to span the void to connect office floors, all in an  open plan design.   Due to the complex construction procedures & temporary works employed an outstanding result has been achieved.
