Located at 944 Bourke Street, Green Square HealthOne is a purpose-built community health facility that features eight consultation rooms, six treatment rooms, a range of meeting rooms and a gymnasium for patient therapy, along with a parking and drop off area.
The structure consists of concrete slabs at ground & level 1 with concrete columns from ground floor to level 1 and structural steel from level 1 to roof.
The building’s façade consists of glazed brickwork at ground level, and sawtooth detail and stack work pattern brickwork for the first-floor facade. The brick façade was driven by the client and is an important element creating a strong and memorable first impression of the building and cementing the building as a landmark on Bourke Street.
The site used to be a petrol station and is constrained by 3 roads and a neighbouring building.  The builder installed Class B hoardings for 16 weeks, giving a short and challenging period to complete all the façade works, which was further complicated by the proximity of aerial power cables. The builder utilised a mobile crane for materials handling which was temporarily parked in the rear lane as site space restrictions prevented the use of a permanent crane, and council would not accept the closure of Bourke or Portman Streets.
The project was successfully completed in a challenging environment where the construction was dealt with in an efficient and professional manner, resulting in a well finished quality outcome.
