Lendlease was awarded this project as a VECI for the Prince of Wales Hospital Acute Services Building (ASB). The building has a total of 13 storeys, including 2 basement levels, is approximately 55,000m2 GFA. Includes two bridge connections connecting to the existing Prince of Wales Hospital and Royal Hospital for Women.
The project is unique in that construction works interface with four live hospitals – Prince of Wales, Prince of Wales Private, Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women.
This work included the diversion of services, including High Voltage, Sewer, Stormwater, Medical Gas, Natural Gas, Fire & Hydraulic services, Fibre Optic and Low Voltage.  As well as the only access road to the POW campus being loading docks.
The 3-storey patient link bridge and 1-storey public link bridge were constructed as modules lifted into place on site. The works were undertaken adjacent to a live operational hospital campus. The design and the construction team worked closely with the Client and multiple user groups to manage the construction interfaces.
This quality is excellent, and due to collaborative efforts, the project has been successfully delivered together with a 10,000m2 shell space variation for the UNSW.
