Lendlease have completed a very complex project comprising the integrated Station Development and the North Tower above the Station. Of particular note is the façade of the tower, this is particularly impressive. “Unitized façade panels were installed using external monorails and Maeda spider cranes, typically two to three floors above the active installation level. The racked Southern façade from (Levels 29-37) consists of small atrium spaces that repeat in three floor increments. To achieve these atrium spaces, large structural Steel “ring beams’ were installed with using the Tower crane, the façade was then hung from the structural steel. For the podium façade (Ground Level to Level 3), a combination of unitised wall glazing system was used as well as stone cladding, sourced from Finland. Additionally, there was some in-situ elements, such as retail awnings and glass shopfronts, installed from ground level using elevated work platforms, Maeda cranes, and monorails.” The domed structure that sits atop the building is also significant comprising unitised glazing and louvres.
