Lendlease delivered the design and construction of the first stage of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct’s 60,000 square metre upgrade of patient care for HI and Southwestern Sydney Local Health District. The project involved the redevelopment of the hospital, providing expanded clinical services, public spaces and car parking on a brownfield site, whilst maintaining adjacent hospital operation throughout. The project was a complex build throughout and included large scale demolition works and excavation. Site constraints included working directly alongside a live operating facility plus highly sensitive hospital departments including audiology, maternity wards, switch service centre, radiation oncology and emergency departments. The build quality of this difficult project is high quality both internally and externally and the new rear entrance lobby area is particularly well finished being an area where funds were available for higher quality finishes.
