The National Sciences Hub is an agricultural teaching and research facility incorporating three glasshouses, PC2 laboratories, quarantine premises and laboratories.
Spread over three levels a diverse range of products has been cleverly designed and built into the project including 120,000 recycled Eco Bricks, recycled timber, polycarbonates, metal cladding and extensive glazing.
The main entrance features a soffit lined with recycled bricks. The bricks were laid in mortar on top of the formwork and bonded to the structural slab poured on top.
The building was constructed in 18.5 months.
