The Glenfield to Leppington Rail Line Project (GLRL) consists of the provision of –  
•    A new 11.4km rail link from Glenfield to Leppington.
•    Two new stations located at Edmondson Park and Leppington, including commuter parking.
•    A train stabling facility at Rossmore.
•    Fourteen new bridge/viaduct structures.
•    All supporting rail systems – OHW, signals, HV/LV.
•    New 132kVa substation for Endeavour Energy. GLRL will provide modern, safe and accessible stations and interchange facilities for rail commuters – essential infrastructure for the predicted future increases in population in Sydney’s south-west, a link to major employment centres including Liverpool, Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.This project was a design and construct contract that was to comply with the Transport for NSW Brief and all of NSW State Rail design standards. The project has been a massive procurement exercise for materials eg: 44km of railway lines for the rail line plus a further 11km of railway lines for the train stabling facility. Bulk earthworks consisted of 1,000,000m3 to be excavated and relocated along the alignment. The two new stations at Edmondson Park and Leppington have been finished to a very high standard, with excellent parking facilities for commuters. John Holland’s management and site supervision team has successfully provided Sydney’s south-west with excellent new transportation infrastructure. It demonstrated professionalism and dedication in overcoming innumerable difficulties throughout the design and construction period.
