Joel is passionate about carpentry and inquisitive to learn as much as he can. This is an excellent trait in an apprentice and does not go unnoticed. Joel also has the ability to forward think and takes the initiative to move onto the next task, keeping himself busy on-site without needing the constant micro-management of his team leaders. His polite and well-mannered nature is respected among his peers which gives him an advantage when communicating in various situations that may arise on site.  Joel has also taken the lead in supporting the site manager in mentoring and training a new (school-based) first-year apprentice who works alongside Joel when on site. This has been a great support and shows his commitment to the team as a whole.
