Carpe Diem Community Workspace provides a commercial environment for small-scale tenancies. Buildcorp constructed its suite of activity spaces, communal amenities, indoor and outdoor event places over two levels at Barangaroo Towers.
The fitout was undertaken over four stages being early occupation for the Green Building Council of Australia, along with lift lobby and central core; meeting rooms and breakout spaces; tenancy fitouts; and stair, platforms and community spaces.
Building issues that added to the complexity of the fitout were the automatic pivot doors, the Level 32 Stressbar installation and the combined effect of an occupied building while undertaking structural demolition. 
The highlight was the interconnecting stairs that were hung from the beam above. The stairs appeared to float, independent of the main structure. The steel and the timber work to the stairs was of a very high standard of craftsmanship.
The two-floor fitout has been carried out in difficult circumstances, fulfilling the client’s expectations.
