This project comprises the entire replacement of the existing façade with a new sleek full height glass curtain wall. Working to minimize disruption to the office areas within the building,  Buildcorp collaborated with the Owners Consultants and other stakeholders to determine the scope, identify key design and construction challenges. The resulting scope included; Removal of combustible cladding elements to the façade; Deconstruction and removal of the original cladding system; Modification and remediation to exposed slab edges; Construction of new curtain wall façade system;  Integration of new façade with the internal fit-out.    The methodology included providing an internal temporary wall approx. 1m inside the existing façade allowing tenants to safely occupy the floors during the works.  A full height scaffold was erected to the east and west facades to facilitate external access and the safe removal of the existing façade. The north façade was accessed via swinging stages. The works were completed in an occupied office environment requiring the works to be completed in a tight time frame with minimal disruption. The installation of the new façade commenced with a bottom up solution. The prefabricated units were installed using cranes based in Macquarie Street with appropriate road closures. All units were installed within a matter of days. The success of the works was achieved following extensive collaboration with all stakeholders. The team was engaged under an ECI model that enabled all parties to collaborate to proactively identify and derisk the complex construction solutions. Buildcorp have been proactive in achieving a successful outcome that incorporates a high quality, primarily all glass façade to fit in with the adjoining buildings.
