The project scope encompassed the full lifecycle of delivery, including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, integration, operational readiness and handover.
The bridge spanning the highway is a complex, curved structural steel structure comprising a fully welded box section cantilevering from a circular concrete support on one side of the highway, extending over a single support pier on the opposite side before anchoring into a supporting ramp abutment.
Set within a UNESCO World Heritage and NSW State Heritage-listed setting, the project presented significant architectural, engineering and construction challenges. The completed bridge demonstrates exceptional architectural expression, cutting-edge engineering and construction excellence, delivering a distinctive and enduring piece of infrastructure within a highly sensitive heritage environment.
