The project for Macquarie University is a groundbreaking facility in tertiary education, combining inclusive design, sustainability and innovation. Purpose built for people with hearing (cochlear) and vision loss, it integrates research, clinical services and specialist education. The facility spanning over two pavilions across multiple levels houses over 260 specialised staff. ADCO overcame complex site challenges including a steep gradient that required careful planning of levels, staging and access. This excellent project is a result of positive collaboration between all parties and is a benchmark for accessibility, research and learning in Australia’s social infrastructure landscape.
