MBA CHARITY CONTRIBUTIONS

Welcome to the MBA Charity Contributions Page
Supporting community events and charitable causes has been part of the Master Builders history since its inception over 135 years ago.

Master Builder members’ altruistic spirit is as strong as ever and this webpage records the activities of individual members, Divisions and the Master Builders corporate initiatives that demonstrate a willingness to care for others.

The activities in which the Master Builders is involved are varied; we may be building, via donation, a small home for a single mother of a child with muscular dystrophy, fundraising for the children’s oncology unit at the local hospital or swimming the ocean to raise money for research to fight cancer.

Division’s of the Master Builders are encouraged to forward to the Division Coordinator information in relation to their charitable activities and grow awareness of this very important part of the Master Builders identity.

GIVE DALE INDEPENDENCE (GDI) PROJECT

The Murray Division of Master Builders Association of NSW is constructing a re-locatable home that will provide greater independence for a young local Albury man who suffers from cerebral palsy, epilepsy and has a heart condition.

The entire project, overseen by local Master Builder members, will be completed completely by donation from the local building industry including work conducted by apprentices from the local Tafe. The Murray Division will own the re-locatable home.

Dale Welch is a 20 year old Howlong resident who suffers from cerebral palsy, epilepsy and has a heart condition.

Dale’s mother Sharon is hoping to give Dale a level of independence he desires and her wish was to convert the home garage into a self contained living quarters for Dale. With that aim in mind Sharon has approached the Murray Division; Master Builders Association NSW for assistance.

Our local committee has given this matter consideration and we have decided to assist Dale in achieving supervised independence that will no doubt improve his quality of life and hopefully bring him some joy as well.

However, having inspected the garage we have come to the conclusion that no amount of work could make it fit for occupation and we have now decided to build a self contained relocatable unit for Dale. Our aim is to construct this unit at zero cost by way of having all materials, services and labour donated.

On completion, this unit will remain the property of the Master Builders Association NSW with unlimited use granted to Dale. If Dale for any reason no longer requires or wishes to use the unit we will remove the unit and relocate it for the use of another deserving person.
