This one day, nationally accredited program, is required for anyone who will potentially carry out construction work or be required to operate on a building site. It is suitable for almost anyone, and especially the following:

    • School leavers and new industry entrants
    • Labourers and tradespeople
    • Overseas experienced construction workers who now seek work in NSW
    • Site managers and supervisors
    • Surveyors
    • People who access operational construction zones unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person
    • Workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones
    • Anyone who has been out of the construction industry for more than two years

This one day training course aims to assist participants with basic occupational health and safety knowledge required prior to undertaking designated work tasks within the building and construction industry. Topics covered include:

      • WHS legislative requirements
      • Construction hazards and control measures
      • WHS communication and reporting processes
      • WHS incident response procedures

A practical observation assessment and a knowledge quiz is required to achieve competency.

Following successful completion of this course, participants may legally work on a construction site. Further training in Building and Construction qualifications can lead to being trade qualified. Additionally, Work Health Safety qualifications may lead to an occupation within Site Supervision or Safety Management positions within a construction company.

Participants who successfully complete this course will be eligible to apply to WorkCover NSW for their General Construction Induction (White) Card.
