• Apprentice of the Year

Each year the MBA presents an award to an apprentice considered to be the most outstanding in his/her year. The Awards are open to MBA members who directly employ or indenture apprentices and/or training employers who engage apprentices through the MBA Group Apprenticeship Training Scheme. Apprentices recommended for the award must meet certain criteria and be nominated by their employer or training employer.

The Awards recognise apprentices who not only have achieved merit in their trade course, but who are highly regarded by employer for their ability, character and performance. Other personal attributes, such as leadership qualities or the contribution they make to community activities may also be taken into account.

The Awards are presented to apprentices in first, second, third and fourth years in commercial and residential sectors of our industry.

The MBA Apprentice of the Year Awards also recognises the contribution the employer / training employer make towards the education and support of apprentices in the industry.

Nominees will be assessed by a panel of judges and the successful apprentices are formally recognised by the industry at the MBA Excellence in Construction Awards Annual Dinner held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, Parkside Ballroom, Darling Harbour on Saturday 2 November 2013 with their employer / training employer, parents, spouse or partner.

The MBA Apprentice of the Year Awards is an opportunity for both employer / training employer and employee recognition and we urge you to give your apprentice this chance to receive a significant honour.
