These customers requested a contemporary look to complement their modern home. The challenge was to create this with only a very limited area between the boundary and existing gazebo. With a young family, the clients also wanted a fun shallow area for the kids to play in. Taking advantage of the latest trend in the upmarket Compass ceramic pool range, the factory was asked to create a 200mm customised dropped edge to link both the 7m x 3m x 2m wader, 300mm deep to form a safe zone for the children. The wader wraps around the corner of the gazebo and becomes the focal point, while also providing hours of amusement for the kids. A 600mm tiled spillway with raised travertine stepping stones creates a seamless integration between the two bodies of water. To further enhance the design, a 3m x 800mm fully tiled sunpod with four bubbler-style jets flows into the wader. With a series of flush-mounted water jets, the visual effect is stunning, there is virtually no splash and the water’s sound is soft and relaxing. Bostock Pools has met the client’s exact specifications to bring together the gazebo entertainment area and landscape designs they had in mind - a beautiful visual feature within the confines of the space available that gives the impression that it has always been there. The effective L-shaped pool design provides an excellent use of space, with entertaining in the gazebo literally poolside. A fantastic result with limited space.
